Darren Gilbert - Founder/Director
Darren is the founder/director of CT TakeOver 501(c) non profit back in 2019 where he wanted to make a positive influence on the youth to help them reach their goals by being able to play at the college level. Darren has been playing basketball since he was five years old and has always been passionate about the game. He was a high school standout at Berlin High School earning all conference, all state, and being on the select 30 “NERR”. Coming out of high school he was able to be recruited by 10 schools from D1 Juco- D3s throughout New England by competing at high level camps and the AAU circuit. He decided to play at Springfield Tech and Salem State University but battled injuries at both colleges throughout his career. After college Darren had the opportunity to play overseas tournaments in Ireland, Italy and Spain. He now enjoys giving back to the youth and helping guide them towards success.
